Chronic pain is defined as pain that lasts longer than 6 months and affects nearly 1 in 3 adults in the United States. It's truly an epidemic. So, we surveyed 1,089 people, ages 25 and up, who reported having chronic pain to better understand the issue.

We discovered that more than half of chronic pain sufferers take an over-the-counter pill like ibuprofen nearly every day.

Learning this broke our hearts because we know that over time the side effects of these powerful oral medications can be quite dangerous.

The truth is, effective pain relievers that aren't bad for you can be difficult to find. In fact, it's the entire reason we started our company.

There is some good news here though.

Apart from using non-toxic products like ours to treat chronic pain, there are actually many interventions to soothe pain while supporting a healthy lifestyle. And the science backs it up. Things like proper exercise, nutrition, sleep—the list goes on—and other environmental choices can have a greater impact than any medication; they just require a bit of work from the person in pain.

We hope this infographic inspires folks to fight pain with wellness before they rely on a pill that could do more harm than good.
